Dr. Ivery D. Clifton, a native Georgian, was the first African American to serve at the dean level in the University of Georgia, holding the position of interim dean from 1994 to 1995 in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. One of his many lasting contributions was his staunch support and commitment to minority youth and their pursuit of higher education.
