Delta Psi Boulé Welcomes Seven New Archons

Delta Psi Boulé of Athens, Georgia inducted seven outstanding, new Archons on December 17, 2022, during a ceremony held at the home of Archon Matthew McRae and Archousa Barbara McRae. The induction ceremony was attended by Grand Grammateus, Samuel Bacote III. Immediately following the induction ceremony, the Archons, and Archousa held the first Delta Psi Christmas Gala since the onset of the COVID pandemic. Attendees were served a delicious catered meal and live musical entertainment was provided. Additionally, as part of the festivities, all Archousa were provided special Christmas gifts selected by the Archons of the Delta Psi.

Archon Barkley Barton II is the Director of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Georgia, where he oversees recruiting, admissions, and enrollment of students into a highly qualified, talented, and diverse student body. 

Archon Donovan A. Gowdie, M.D. is currently the Chief Executive Officer of The Foot and Ankle Treatment Center in Watkinsville, GA. 

Archon Matthew McRae, III is the Senior Dental Administrator at McRae Family Dental and the Chief Executive Officer of McRae Management Solutions in Athens, GA. 

Archon James Pippim, MD, MPH, FACP, FCCP is a Professor of Medicine at Augusta University and at the University of Georgia Medical Partnership where he also serves as the site clerkship director for critical care medicine. Archon Pippim is a pulmonologist, intensivist, and internist at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital where he is the program director of the Transitional Year Residency. 

Archon Terry M. Powers, Jr., DMD is a General Dentist with 15 years of dental experience. He currently practices with Heartland Dental, the nation’s largest Dental Service Organization (DSO), at Dental Care of Braselton. 

Archon Robert Tucker is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice in the Athens, GA area where he provides mental health counseling to the community. Through his practice, he provides counseling services to clientele to address a variety of issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, and family relationship issues. 

Archon Ron Walcott, Ph.D. is the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and the Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Georgia (UGA). Additionally, he is a professor in the Department of Plant Pathology in the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the president of the American Phytopathological Society. Archon Walcott is a leading expert in the study of microorganisms that infect and cause disease in the seeds of plants.
