Archon Dexter Fisher, Sire Archon of the Delta Psi Boule in Athens, GA, was interviewed on his recent election as a new county commissioner in Athens-Clarke County. The interview was published in the March 2023 edition of the Red and Black Newspaper, the student newspaper at the University of Georgia in Athens. During the interview, Archon Fisher described his successful campaign that included winning a runoff election after receiving less than 50% of the vote in the general election. He became one of three newly elected commissioners who joined the Athens-Clarke County legislative body after the last election, and he will represent District 5 of Athens-Clarke County for the next four years. Archon Fisher is looking forward to working with Athens Mayor Kelly Girtz and his other nine fellow commissioners on tackling his policy issues that he emphasized during his campaign. He plans to focus on creating opportunities for youth development, combating homelessness, and reducing gang violence, as well as other issues important to citizens in the Athens area.
